Koncile is a French startup that automates document data extraction with OCR and AI. Their solution is built for demanding teams — Finance leaders, buyers, and Accounting directors — in enterprise environments. Before the redesign, their site didn’t reflect the technical depth or credibility of the product.

Gemeos handled the full redesign — art direction, UI design, Webflow development with a CMS architecture built to scale, and an SEO strategy targeting the most competitive keywords in OCR and document automation.

Art Direction

Visually anchor the credibility of an enterprise tool

Koncile speaks to demanding profiles: finance leaders, compliance teams, developers. The art direction brief was clear — build a visual identity that inspires trust in sectors where rigor is non-negotiable, without falling into the stiff codes of traditional enterprise software.

Gemeos defined a visual system rooted in the AI tech space: a dark, high-contrast palette, structured typography with room to breathe, and grid patterns in the background to evoke data and precision. The aesthetic isn't trying to seduce. It's built to reassure and convert decision-makers.

Trust signals — SOC2 certification, GDPR compliance, "French solution" — were integrated as full-fledged art direction elements, not just simple badges. They support the overall positioning: a serious, secure tool, built in France.

UI Design

An interface that speaks to two audiences at once

Koncile’s UI challenge was structural: the same site had to convince decision-makers who wanted to understand the business value, and developers who wanted to assess the technical integration. Two reading modes. One journey.

Gemeos solved that tension by structuring the interface into layers of progressive disclosure. The hero delivers the business promise in two sentences.

The features sections unfold the 12 technical capabilities through an interactive tab system. Product complexity stays easy to navigate without overwhelming the page.

Client testimonials (11 at the time of the redesign) are presented in a carousel to make room for social proof without weighing down the scroll.

The OCR template library, organized by industry — identity, purchasing, transportation, logistics, real estate, legal, finance — was designed as both an acquisition tool and a feature.

Each document template has its own page, which helps SEO and product onboarding.

The CTA hierarchy was calibrated to match two intent levels: "Try Koncile" (direct access to the tool, 20 free credits) for technical profiles in discovery mode, "Book a demo" for decision-makers in evaluation mode.

Webflow Development

A CMS architecture built to scale without depending on the agency

The Koncile site was fully built in Webflow with client autonomy baked in from day one. The Koncile team can create and publish blog posts, update the template library, and keep the clients page fresh — without any technical help from Gemeos.

The site is deployed in a multi-locale setup (FR/EN) to serve both the French and U.S. markets. Live production integrations include Intercom (support chat), Axeptio (GDPR consent management compliant with ePrivacy), [Brevo — to be confirmed], and a live demo embed directly on the homepage to reduce time to value.

On the performance side: systematic asset compression (PNG → WebP migration), lazy loading for images outside the viewport, and Webflow component structuring to cut down on requests. The 404 page was customized to point users to helpful resources and reduce bounce rates from URL errors.

Organic visibility for the most competitive OCR keywords

The SEO strategy kicked off in March 2025, alongside the launch of the redesigned site. The goal: make Koncile an organic authority on AI OCR queries in France — and start building a presence in the US market.

Technical audit

The first move was a full audit of the site’s technical health. Priority fixes included:

Semantic architecture

The Koncile site covers several semantic worlds: general OCR, business use cases (accounting, logistics, KYC, HR), document types (invoice, bank details, company registration certificate, delivery note…), and competitive comparisons. Gemeos defined a topic cluster architecture so each page strengthens the others through internal linking.

Gemeos produced writing guidelines for every content format — blog articles, use case pages, template pages — with the Hn structure defined upfront. The goal: a consistent editorial engine, gradually handed off to the Koncile team.

Structured data

The Schema.org SoftwareApplication and AggregateRating tags were implemented across all product pages. Expected result: rich snippets with ratings in the SERPs, creating a strong visual edge in search results where most competitors don’t show a visible rating.

Custom SEO tooling

Gemeos built three custom GPTs to industrialize and make SEO production more reliable:

  • Hn Structure GPT : generates an optimized heading tree for a target query
  • Content Rewrite GPT : rewrites existing content while preserving the target semantic density
  • Internal Linking GPT : suggests anchor text and destination pages for every new article

Link building

The link-building strategy relies on Linkuma to manage link exchange partnerships. Partnership opportunities were identified in the US market (for example, Best OCR platform) to build international authority around English-language queries. Link building is managed in sync with the editorial calendar so new articles get authority from day one.

GEO optimization — Visibility in AI engines

Beyond classic SEO, Gemeos rolled out a generative engine optimization (GEO) strategy. Bing Webmaster Tools was connected to the Koncile site to track "AI performance" metrics — meaning Koncile’s visibility in responses generated by Bing AI and Microsoft Copilot. This tracking makes it possible to identify pages cited by LLMs and optimize content structure to increase citations in AI answers (clear wording, direct answers to questions, structured data, topical authority).

This GEO layer complements traditional SEO: the goal is for Koncile to show up not only in classic search results, but also in AI-generated summaries when someone asks a question about OCR, data extraction, or document automation.
