How to Add Google Tag Manager to Webflow
Learn how to install Google Tag Manager on your Webflow website: head snippet, noscript, verification, and publishing.
In this tutorial, Sandro, cofounder of the Gemeos Webflow agency, shows you how to install Google Tag Manager on your Webflow website.
1. Create your GTM container
On tagmanager.google.com, create a new Web container. Note your GTM ID (format GTM-XXXXXXX).
2. Install the snippet in Webflow
In Project Settings > Custom Code, paste the GTM JavaScript snippet into the Head Code field. Paste the noscript snippet into the Footer Code field (it goes right after the opening body tag). Save and publish.
3. Check the installation
In GTM, click Preview. Open your website in the tab that opens. The GTM Tag Assistant should appear at the bottom and confirm the connection.
4. Publish your GTM container
Once your tags are set up (GA4, Meta Pixel, etc.), click Submit in GTM to publish the container. Without publishing GTM, no tags will fire on the live site.
Conclusion
With GTM installed, you can centralize all your tags without touching Webflow code. See also: add Google Analytics to Webflow.
