How to Enable SSL and HTTPS in Webflow
Learn how to enable and verify SSL (HTTPS) on your Webflow site: automatic certificate and mixed content.
In this tutorial, Sandro, co-founder of the Gemeos Webflow agency, shows you how to enable and check SSL (HTTPS) on your Webflow site.
SSL is automatic in Webflow
Webflow automatically generates a Let's Encrypt SSL certificate for every connected domain. You don't need to configure anything manually. HTTPS is enabled within minutes of DNS validation.
1. Check the SSL status
In Publishing > Custom Domains, each domain shows its SSL status: a green icon means the certificate is active. If the status is pending, wait up to 24 hours after the DNS connection.
2. Force HTTP to HTTPS redirects
In Project Settings > Publishing, enable the SSL option to force all http:// URLs to redirect to https://. This option is enabled by default on new projects.
3. Fix mixed content issues
If your site shows a crossed-out padlock icon, you have mixed content: resources loaded over HTTP on an HTTPS page. Check the Chrome console (F12) to identify the insecure URLs and replace them with their HTTPS versions.
Conclusion
Webflow SSL is fully managed, with no manual intervention.
