In this tutorial, Sandro, cofounder of the Gemeos Webflow agency, shows you how to invite an agency to your Webflow workspace.

Inviting guests in Webflow has recently been simplified thanks to the agency or independent guest role. This role is designed to make sure workspace owners keep ownership while sharing access securely. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to invite an agency or freelancer to your Webflow workspace.

Agency role features

This specific role lets Webflow workspace owners confidently invite professionals such as agencies or freelancers.

Here’s how it works:

As soon as a professional is invited, they get instant access to all sites in that workspace, old and new. They can also create, duplicate, and clone sites, accept transfers, and buy templates.

Access allowed for the agency or independent guest role:

  • All sites and folders in the workspace.
  • Specific settings like integrations and templates.
  • The Webflow Designer.

Role limitations

Guests can’t view or edit:

  • Certain workspace settings, such as spaces, members, packages, billing, and partner settings.

Assignable guest rights and permissions

Depending on the workspace type (Starter, Core, Freelancer, Growth, Agency, or Enterprise), guests can be assigned different rights and permissions:

  • Site Admin : Design access with publishing enabled. This is the default role for Growth workspaces.
  • Can design : Full access to design tools.
  • Can design (limited) : Restricted access, usually assigned in Enterprise workspaces.

good to know

In 2026, Webflow strengthened role management in Agency and Enterprise plans with distinct access levels: Site Admin, Can design, and Can design (limited) for Enterprise plans.

How to invite a guest to your workspace

  1. Click the Account dropdown in your dashboard
  2. Click Workspaces
  3. Choose the workspace you want to add your guest to
  4. Go to the Members tab > Guests an agency or independent contractor
  5. Click Invite a guest
  6. Add the guest’s email address in the field
  7. Click Invite

In short, Webflow gives you a huge amount of flexibility when working with agencies or freelancers. Follow this guide to keep your workspace sharing efficient and secure.
