How to Add an Article Rich Snippet (Schema.org) in Webflow

Schema.org Article markup tells Google and AI engines that your page is a blog post or a guide. It improves how your content is understood, helps search engines index it accurately, and increases your chances of being cited in AI answers. Sandro, cofounder of Gemeos Agency, shows you how to implement it dynamically in Webflow CMS.

Prerequisites

• A Webflow site with a CMS collection for articles
• Access to the CMS template page settings
• The following CMS fields filled in: title, description, publish date, author, main image

1. Open your CMS collection template

In the Webflow Designer, go to your article collection template (for example, "Blog Post Template"). Open the page settings using the gear icon. Scroll down to "Custom Code."

2. Create the JSON-LD script with CMS variables

Paste the following script into the "Before </body> tag" field. The variables between double curly braces should be replaced with your Webflow CMS fields through the embed interface.

3. Bind the CMS variables in an Embed element

Add an "HTML Embed" element to your CMS template, outside the Rich Text. Paste the JSON-LD script. Select each value in quotes and use the "Add Field" button to replace it with the matching CMS field. Webflow will automatically inject the dynamic values for each article.

4. Check and submit

Publish your site. Test an article URL in the Rich Results Test. Make sure every field is filled in. Submit it through Search Console.
